Dental Implants

Dental Implants are the best solution to many of the dental issues that we face today. Whether you are missing one tooth, have a failing bridge/denture or would like to reconstruct your smile to it’s strongest and most natural/beautiful state, Dental Implants are the best option available today. As opposed to traditional bridgework, which requires the destruction of the natural tooth structure in order to provide support for a false tooth, Dental Implants are a more conservative solution to tooth replacement.

THE BASIC IMPLANT PROCESS

A Dental Implant functions just like a natural tooth. Dr. First will begin by inserting a titanium Dental Implant (root structure) into the socket. You will then heal for approximately 3-4 months.  When you are healing, the implant will integrate with your bone in a process called Osseointegration. During this process, the bone and the ridges of the implant form a bond, keeping the foundation of your new tooth strongly in place. After you heal, Dr. First will place the abutment (post) and crown on top of the implant.

Dental Implant success rates are currently up to 98%. Due to the technological advances over the last 25 years in implant design and surgical techniques, Dental Implant surgery has become extremely safe and the current standard of care for tooth replacement.

The stability that Dental Implants provide will restore your ability to eat and enjoy food prior to tooth and bone loss.
